Art Gaze is the quiet, considered universe of Astrid, a multidisciplinary artist whose work weaves together her background in business psychology, her love for interiors, and her enduring fascination with the natural world. Her pieces are rooted in observation, shaped by intuition, and grounded in the belief that beauty often lives in the spaces we overlook.
Her journey into art was never conventional. Though initially drawn to art school, she followed a different route that was shaped by curiosity rather than curriculum. Alongside a successful career in diverse sectors, she explored various creative disciplines to express herself, from photography and sewing to interior design and visual art. These skills, acquired outside formal structures, give her work an unpolished honesty. It resists categorisation and embraces freedom — both in process and in form. 
The artist’s prior experience working closely with individuals who had already reached past their own limits offered her a deep insight into people’s need for stillness. Time and again, she witnessed the grounding effect of nature, of stepping away from screens and truly delving into the physical world. These observations didn’t just inform her work, they became its foundation. Her art responds to that need by providing a halt, a breath, and a gentle reminder to look again. 
Art Gaze is about the act of looking and allowing yourself to get lost in the beauty of a landscape
The materials and forms she chooses are never elaborate. Natural textures, subtle tones, raw edges… they all speak to the same idea: that what is unrefined is not unfinished. That imperfection carries its own form of clarity. Her works are inspired by objects and scenes that others might pass by: the grain in wood, the slow decay of leaves, the softened lines of a well-used interior. In her hands, these elements become a visual language. 
The name Art Gaze captures this approach. It’s about the act of looking. Not analysing or judging, but simply being present and allowing yourself to get lost in the beauty of a landscape. Astrid’s work aims to create that space. By incorporating small details of nature into her art, she encourages viewers to appreciate the simplicity and wonder in everyday life. As the artist describes it herself: ‘I am here to offer you a pause, a chance to slow down and truly see what is around you. The little details, the quiet moments. It is all there, and we are lucky to witness it.’
