There is a certain intimacy in honest and passionate dishes. Scorpios in Mykonos, Greece is a real example of this, as it offers a union of different rituals and cultures that come together in gastronomic memories that will stay with you for a long time.
Founded in 2015 on the sun-drenched southern tip of Mykonos, Scorpios was built around a contemporary interpretation of the ancient Greek agora. It is a meeting place designed to stimulate the artistic, spiritual and social life of the community. In one of the rare beach locations on Mykonos with uninterrupted views over the open sea, Scorpios includes a sandy beach, a whitewashed stone house and restaurant, custom-built stages for sunset rituals and spacious open-air terraces stretching across the Cycladic coastline. Together with award-winning architects Dimitris and Konstantinos Karampatakis of Athens-based K-studio, interior designer Annabell Kutucu and creative director Michael Schickinger of Lambs and Lions developed a holistic design treatment for Scorpios, focusing on the essentials and celebrating traditional craftsmanship that fosters an environment of effortless ease. Pure environments, cultural interactions and the magic of connecting in a strange but familiar place form the basis of Scorpios - a place designed for people looking for simple pleasures like waking up with sea views, sharing good food prepared with love and care and feeling the ritual energy of a crowd dancing under a starry sky. ‘I loved the idea of reshaping the Greek agora - a place where thoughts are cultivated and the soul is nourished through sublime surroundings, fresh food and inspired cultural programming,’ said Thomas Heyne, co-founder of Scorpios Mykonos.
'A place where thoughts are cultivated and the soul is nourished by a sublime environment'
Guests can look forward to a menu that combines the fundamentals of the Greek islands with culinary techniques from other horizons. Not only is the food exquisite, but also the interior reflects the importance of spending time in conscious togetherness with thoughtful meals. Communal tables and the open restaurant create an inviting place where connection and fun reign. Wooden cabanas and sunbeds offer discreet places to relax while maintaining a strong connection with the surrounding vegetation. Moreover, the proximity to the beach adds to the beauty of the location and the presence of the elements. Besides enjoying the phenomenal cuisine, Scorpios devotes much attention to daily sunset rituals and experiencing the best of the Cycladic coastline. With today's hyper-accelerated pace, the need to slow down and restore balance takes on new meaning. Get to know similar hotels through our collection book PURE Hotels.
