Woodstoxx from West Flanders is deeply rooted in a wide range of applications in wood. In doing so, they focus on respect for the product and nature on the one hand and the uniqueness of her customer on the other. We were able to secure Ward Deruyter for a few questions.
What is last year's project you are most proud of, and why?
‘There are a few projects of which we are proud. I am thinking, for example, of the new stadium at KV Ostend, where we have placed 220 domino bars. The project that stands out the most this year is a private project by Govaert & Vanhoutte Architects just outside Ghent. There we were really able to show what we’re made of. The cladding of the facade, as well as the wooden terrace and parquet were our responsibility.’
What are you looking forward to professionally this year? What are the developments towards the future?
‘Woodstoxx has a number of plans in place. And that’s how we’ll celebrate our 10th anniversary this year. In addition, we can also announce that we will open a new showroom in Ghent in the autumn. We have found a building that perfectly meets our needs. It’ll be a real centre of experience.’
Who are your most important business partners?
‘We count on a large network of business partners. In addition, within Woodstoxx, employees are also considered business partners because they ensure that every project, large and small, succeeds.’
Who is your client base usually?
‘We have a very diverse clientele. This is a conscious strategy. We focus on the professional market of architects, construction promoters and project developers. In addition, we also reach the private segment. A third group is the self-employed cabinetmaker.’
What do you wish for yourself and your (potential) customers for the new year, apart from a classic such as 'good health'?
‘We’re committed to making 2017 a successful year. Hopefully, our business partners and customers will also be able to experience this.’
Okay, touch wood!
