Renew, realign, and reimagine: this is how Maison Osaïn encapsulates the core values of their mission to breathe new life into aging homes. Maison Osaïn is an interior studio that transforms houses into serene sanctuaries, with sustainability and aesthetics at the heart of their approach. Founded by Thomas, an architect, and Ann, a fashion expert, Maison Osaïn offers a refreshing perspective on modern living. Their work focuses on restoring the grandeur of homes that have lost their former glory while preserving authenticity. This heritage is seamlessly combined with contemporary comfort and style. Every detail is meticulously chosen to create not just a house, but a home—a space that enhances well-being and connection. This sense of intentionality forms an invisible yet tangible layer in every Maison Osaïn project.
The name “Osaïn” is inspired by a Yoruba deity symbolizing the wisdom of nature. The associated values —healing, renewal, and restoration— are central to Maison Osaïn’s philosophy. Similarly, they aim to bring new life to aging homes. This vision is supported by eight core principles reflected in all their projects: authenticity, silence, nature, beauty, sustainability, transparency, care, and holism. Maison Osaïn also collaborates closely with artists and artisans, resulting in homes that are not only sustainable but also imbued with a refined artistic dimension. By doing so, Maison Osaïn honors the past while creating forward-looking homes where beauty and harmony take center stage. Located in the charming district of Antwerp South, House Sur stands as a testament to resilience and renewed elegance. Once damaged by fire and water, Maison Osaïn has masterfully transformed this property into a unique sanctuary, reaffirming their reputation as pioneers in innovative restorations of historical buildings. House Sur is more than just a home; it is a personal retreat where well-being and refinement take precedence. Using soft hues and natural materials, the house offers a serene environment conducive to relaxation and creativity, all while maintaining its prestigious location in one of Antwerp’s most sought-after and dynamic neighborhoods.
House Sur shines as a beacon of resilience and renewed elegance
A key aspect of this transformation is the collaboration with gallery owner Stéphanie Fréderickx. Her creative direction has turned House Sur into an artistic hub where design and craftsmanship converge. Furniture by renowned designers like Tim Vranken and Phil Procter is paired with unique objects by Fabio Hendry and Jojo Coräia, reflecting a delicate balance between tradition and modernity. The home is further enriched by artworks from Kick Veldman, Nathalie Van der Massen, and others, which bring a profound artistic depth to the space, enhancing its atmosphere of tranquility and beauty. Isabelle Yamamoto’s expertise in interior design, with her eye for detail and appreciation for imperfection, adds warmth and cohesion, transforming House Sur into an inspiring refuge. In short, House Sur surely is a place “where heritage meets innovation,” as Maison Osaïn aptly describes it. It honours the past while looking ahead, making it a true haven for those who value beauty, art, and innovation.
