- Interior
There are projects that rise above the ordinary, and this is definitely one of them. Collaborating with friends is always best; starting together and growing together. Almost a decade ago, the design team of Isern Serra worked with Plate Selector for the first time, and today they have the honour of presenting their new headquarters.
Plate Selector, founded by Alba Yanez, Khaled Abbas and Juan Navaza, is a gastronomy-focused content creation agency. Strong growth in recent years created the need for a new office. This marked the beginning of a new adventure, in which they once again got to work with this inspiring team to design a working environment that reflects the company's evolution. The central idea behind this project was to create a workplace that reflects the well-being of the employees and feels like a second home. The emphasis here is on the kitchen, the heart of the company, both literally and figuratively. Through carefully chosen materials and thoughtful design, they aim to visualise the passage of time and the growth of the company. Given the nature of Plate Selector, the kitchen forms the central core of the project. The imposing central island, made of Alicante red marble, acts as a true sculpture. The contrasting material and linen-tinted walls highlight the kitchen as a meeting place and social hub. This space combines functionality with beauty, making it a place not only for cooking, but also for gathering and interaction. The rest of the design flows organically from this core, with subtle references to the kitchen recurring throughout, providing aesthetic and thematic cohesion.
Functionality and employee well-being are key
Upon entering the office, visitors are welcomed by the open space. Thanks to the wide opening and soft colour palette, the place generates a sense of well-being. Two large tables provide a comfortable and efficient workspace. A red marble cylinder, integrated into the design, acts as a sculptural element and again refers to the kitchen. Shelves with decorative objects add a personal and warm touch to the working environment, making the atmosphere homely and inviting. The sofa space is designed to promote comfort and encourage social interaction. Architecture G's Masheb sofa serves as a perfect place to relax and have informal conversations. The piece plays with geometric shapes. In turn, the meeting room stands out for its unique entrance shape and colour palette. That is to say, two arched doors create a sculptural effect and provide the necessary privacy for meetings. The terracotta colour of the interior visually matches the core of the kitchen and enhances the warm and intimate atmosphere, ideal for productive meetings. Like the meeting room, the bathroom has an arched entrance, adding to the aesthetic coherence of the design. Functionality and employee well-being are the focus, with carefully chosen colours, materials and elegant design. Marble elements, such as the central island and cylinders, add a touch of colour and texture to the neutral, serene and architectural space. The efforts of all parties involved resulted in an inspiring environment that not only reflects the company's growth, but also provides a home for creativity and collaboration.
