At the heart of creation is uninhibited art. And it is best expressed in a design when residents' personalities are brought out in a deliberate manner. This is what CJH Studio succeeded in brilliantly when they pulled this beautiful Bungalow N project out of their sleeve. Bold patterns and surprising colours alternate with soft shapes and the interior architecture firm's soothing hand.
CJH Studio is known for its high-end designs. The interior architecture studio, located in Melbourne, designs from its strong foundation: Cassie James- Herrick. The interior designer has worked on her distinctive vision for seventeen years. A bulldog in the industry, she knows best how to put down a successful design. In doing so, her knowledge and understanding of materiality stand out head and shoulders above the rest. Moreover, with her refined eye for detail, she creates personalised interiors that radiate warmth; a place where residents feel at home through uninhibited timelessness and where a balance between aesthetics and functionality is played with. Project Bungalow N is brimming with energy. In other words, it is the perfect reflection of the young family for which the creation was conceived. Yet the youthful, fresh spirit also makes way for the authentic elements of the original bungalow. When you step into the house today, you find yourself in an interior design lover's sweet shop where custom-made, soft furnishings are embraced by layered materials and fine design details. Bold pops of colour and unexpected patterns make the creation unique and, above all, very interesting.

Upon entering, the lime-washed walls and ceilings give you a gentle welcome, while the stone staircase wakes you up. In the kitchen too, the royal kitchen island gives you that same engaging feeling. In addition, the double-height void, which reveals the skylight, emphasises the designers' innovativeness: the entire light-rich strip was extended across the total width of the house. Moreover, the rear façade, the boundary between the living spaces and the garden, also catches the eye, as the various arched openings add an elegant touch. In turn, the living room makes you dream away with its fluffy carpet and soft armchair. There is plenty of room for the imagination because of the fireplace, which is enhanced by a beautiful natural stone pattern. The master suite, in turn, was created with a soothing intimacy in mind: natural tones take over there. Yet the playful character is reflected in the giraffe pattern in the connecting bathroom. Bungalow N is a fusion of old and new, soft and hard, and neutral and colour. According to our editors, this design is a model design from which many interior architects should draw inspiration. The fantastic balance with which CJH Studio designed this bungalow is something many can learn from. Want to get enchanted by more impressive projects and inspiring architecture?
