Architectural splendour does not always have to be exotic or be situated far from home. That is what nōmar architects proves with their new timeless design located in the middle of the vast fields of Roeselare, Belgium. Should we come across this stunning project on a bike ride on a beautiful autumn day, we would definitely stop to take a closer look.
Standing in front of this sublime design, you are immediately struck by the imposing serenity that the project exudes. Where does the tranquility of nature stop and the calmness of the building begin? That is hard to say, because the big windows make you feel at one with the surrounding fauna and flora. One thing is for sure: the architectural composition of the various volumes that make up the house creates unseen harmony. This is also created by nōmar architects in the interior of the building by extending a minimalist style. The careful material and colour choices contribute to this: light wood tones and a soft, beige colour palette prevail. During autumn, these hues flow flawlessly into the brownish-red splendour of the surrounding deciduous trees. The spacious rooms of this concept make you relive the free feeling of summer during autumn.
The imposing serenity that the project exudes, immediately strucks you.
This building is unique in many aspects, but what completely sets it apart from other designs are the various patios full of green richness that offer even more breathing space between the volumes. These unique places of tranquillity really make you feel at one with nature and with yourself. In these sheltered patios, you can dream away carefree to the delightful sounds nature has to offer. No crowds, just unity and peace. Peace and serenity are the main elements that nōmar architects wanted to bring out with this design. And they have succeeded exceptionally well with this new project. Close your eyes, let the smell of just-fallen rain come to you, and enjoy this endless calm.
