With a passion for art, design and craftsmanship, Devi Vervaeke always creates extremely unique pieces of furniture. As a loyal partner of Imagicasa, we have put his special design studio in the spotlight many times before and his latest creation is also truly inspiring and worth sharing.
Creating inspiring objects that reflect the beauty of natural imperfection is the philosophy of Nestor & Rotsen, founded by Devi Vervaeke and his brother Denneb. The design studio always works in a traditional way and has a preference for organic forms and natural materials. This results in design furniture and objects that can almost be called works of art and their latest collection fits that description perfectly.
The whole reflects its function and its connection with water and nature.
Devi Vervaeke designed a bath ‘of which neither the design nor the texture or the material used have met their equal,’ he tells us. KYMA, a self-developed and handmade bathtub, is as it were a functional sculpture with endless possibilities. The design is customisable and can be produced in different sizes to accommodate even 2 to 4 people comfortably. The bathtub is available in different neutral, earthy tones with natural colour variations to match the organic form. The whole reflects its function and its connection with water and nature. ‘I start from a material developed in our workshop which is composed of minerals and substances found in nature and which allows the sculpture to be built up into a bathtub that is both beautiful to look at and ergonomic. The traditional way of working implies great creative freedom," explains Devi.
In addition, the design is finished with warm brass faucets that match the stylish base on which the bath rests. This creation takes every bathroom to a higher level and immediately gives the room an extremely exclusive look. Images © Koen Van Damme
