The Danish studio Effekt Architects created an overwhelming experience in the middle of the historic forest of Gisselfeld Klosters, an hour south of Copenhagen. The various walkways in Camp Adventure Park take you to a beautiful watchtower in the heart of the forest.
The spectacular hike starts at the entrance of Camp Adventure where visitors can enter nature via the hanging trails. The paths have been raised so as not to disturb nature and its inhabitants, but to offer walkers a unique experience. During the hike, people can enjoy a beautiful view over the hills, marshes, brooks, meadows and lakes.
A beautiful walking experience that ends with a 360-degree view over the Gisselfeld Klosters forest.
The 900-metre-long footpaths lead to an enormous tower that has blended with nature. The tower is 45 metres high and has the shape of an hourglass. The way up is characterised by a 650-metre long spiral slope divided into two parts, one higher and one lower. The lower path introduces you to the youngest part of the forest and while climbing, you also get to know the older plants that the area has to offer. Once on top, you can enjoy a 360-degree view over the beautiful nature.
The Danish atelier wanted to create this work to integrate harmoniously with the landscape. It was important that the work would blend in with nature and that is why wood and corten steel were used together with the colours of the forest. The perfect day trip for those who love nature and a beautiful view.
