- Interior
In the heart of Zetland, By Sang transforms dining into a sensory experience, where light defines the mood and rhythm of the space. The interior is designed as a meditative environment in which natural and artificial light come together in a carefully balanced interplay. During the day, bright, diffuse sunlight highlights textures and materials, while in the evening, warm, focused lighting enhances intimacy and accentuates the spatial layering. The result is a setting that encourages diners to slow down, pay attention, and engage more deeply with each dish.
The realisation of By Sang was made possible by Moya, a studio that combines architectural design with advanced construction techniques. Moya’s multidisciplinary team is known for creating spaces that blend aesthetics and functionality at the highest level. Through the use of advanced visualisation technologies, from 3D animations to virtual walkthroughs, design and execution were meticulously coordinated. Sustainability plays a central role within the studio; materials and lighting were selected with attention to energy efficiency and a minimal ecological footprint, without compromising comfort or elegance.
By Sang’s interior plays with a carefully layered material palette. Matte earth tones on the walls contrast with velvety upholstery on banquettes and soft leather on chairs, while polished wood and natural stone provide a tactile foundation. The interplay of these elements creates a visual rhythm that is both calming and expressive, forming a backdrop that allows the dishes to take centre stage. The contrast between soft and hard surfaces enhances the experience of touch, colour, and light, with each material contributing to the room’s overall atmosphere.

Sculptural ceiling lights and subtly illuminated wall niches accentuate the play of light and shadow. The lighting acts as a silent director: it delineates zones within the space, guides the eye, and supports the transition from day to night. Through these carefully orchestrated light sculptures, the dining experience acquires a rhythmic dynamism, offering both intimacy and a sense of openness. Light functions not merely as a practical element but as an expressive component of the architecture itself.
At By Sang, the boundary between architecture and culinary ritual becomes fluid. The open layout and subtle lighting create a seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces, inviting diners to discover new details at every turn. Every corner of the interior, from textures to light play, contributes to a holistic experience in which the environment stimulates the senses. The restaurant encourages a slow, mindful enjoyment of food, design, and the interplay of light and material.
