Kine Ask Stenersen and Kristoffer Eng founded the studio Ask og Eng in early 2016, after building several sustainable kitchens and furniture for themselves over a number of years. The founding reflects not only their craftsmanship, but also their shared passion for sustainability and aesthetics. More than that, the studio embodies the power of creativity, and a strong vision of a sustainable future in designing unique kitchens and furniture. We are happy to take you through one of their most recent achievements!
In the beautiful landscape of sunny Ibiza graces a more than century-old finca, renovated by Ask og Eng. The house was transformed into an oasis of peace away from home. Keeping its raw charm and authentic materials was central to designing the interior. Although at first sight it seems contradictory to infuse this Mediterranean retreat with Scandinavian minimalism, the quality and warmth of bamboo elevates the calming atmosphere of the space.
Craftsmanship with a passion for sustainability and aesthetics
Custom-made bamboo furniture decorates every corner of this finca, from bed frames and bathroom furniture to wardrobes and, of course, the heart of every home, the kitchen. A love of craftsmanship radiates from every piece. The kitchen is designed as a shared space where residents can gather around a central kitchen island. Carefully selected natural materials with a pleasing tactility reflect the heritage of the finca and, together with the light and open layout of the rooms, create an atmosphere of peace and mindfulness. In the age of digital acceleration and artificial environments, many long for a return to the calm and authenticity of nature. That's why Ask og Eng chose natural elements to shape interior design. Rough stones, coarse textures and wooden accents add depth to your interior. The meaning of these natural elements goes beyond aesthetics; it is a reminder of our deep-rooted connection to the earth. For your interiors, look beyond trends and take an organic approach to interior design. In this way, your home becomes an ode to the natural beauty that surrounds us and a conscious choice for a feel-good environment.
