In Brighton, Australia, living takes on a distinct identity with Windermere, a project that focuses on meticulous craftsmanship. The design is based on a clear organisation of spaces, in which natural light and the choice of materials play a key role. The street-facing side has been deliberately designed to be closed off, ensuring privacy. Inside, the house is constructed in stages, with successive spaces that flow logically into one another and each serve a different function. The structure of the building ensures that circulation and sightlines remain clear.

The project was realised by Enzo Campus, director of the Stonnington Group and also the owner of the house. He was involved in both the design and the execution. This allowed design choices to be directly implemented in the construction and finishing. This ensures a consistent approach throughout the entire project, from structure to detail. Inside, the design employs a limited yet carefully considered palette of materials. Wood and natural stone feature in various rooms and define the character of the interior. The finish is sleek and meticulous, with bespoke work in the walls, cupboards and kitchen. The kitchen island serves as a functional element situated in the centre of the living area and is integral to daily life. The choice of materials prioritises sustainability and ease of maintenance.

The ground floor opens onto the garden, where large windows provide plenty of natural light and views to the outside. By extending the use of materials, a direct connection is created between indoor and outdoor spaces, without clear boundaries. The lower-level areas also receive ample light from the garden side, making them suitable for work and relaxation. The layout is designed for user comfort and functional flexibility.
The bedrooms are located on the upper floor, each with its own bathroom. The finish remains consistent throughout and is focused on comfort and ease of use. Materials and detailing are carried through so that the house as a whole remains legible in its construction.
