As the world is increasingly revealing ruptures, we notice how oppositions dominate the news. Conflicts seem to multiply, certainties shift, and what once felt self-evident suddenly gives rise to doubt. And yet – somewhere amid the noise – something else can be heard. Even in places where tension and sorrow are never far away, the chirping of birds still returns at first light. At Imagicasa, we continue to believe in that quiet strength. Not to deny reality, but to offer a counterbalance to it. We find hope in architecture that creates space for calm, in interiors that provide shelter, and in designs that regard beauty as a necessity.
More and more, we are extending the summer charm of temporary travel into our own habitats. Our work–life balance has never been more important, and this is reflected in today’s interior choices, where a sense of lasting tranquillity is widely embraced. Lidan Sfadia and Edward Grigoryan understood this well when they shaped a home in Los Angeles that alludes to the meditative power of Tuscany. Here, climbing plants against the façades evoke Italian country houses, while the lush garden is enlivened by olive trees and aromatic herbs. Likewise, the duo behind Soil Studios drew inspiration from one of their own journeys. 
During a long pilgrimage around Lake Namtso in Tibet, they temporarily lived as monks, entirely dependent on nature. That experience laid the foundation for the inner calm they later introduced into their home in China. Overlooking the verdant Wugui Mountain, House of Soil brings together the craftsmanship of various international makers within a holistic setting grounded in discipline and durability. In much the same way, La Fondation embodies the strength of a thoughtfully conceived hotel. With its generous surface area, the five-star establishment houses two restaurants, a rooftop, office spaces, a hanging garden and an all-encompassing sports club. The building’s brutalist architecture was given a decorative interpretation by Roman & Williams, reminding guests once again of the importance of joie de vivre. As beautiful as Paris may be, here there is no need to step outside for an unforgettable journey.
