The Houtique furniture collection is one with a strong visionary and unique identity. In collaboration with creative consultancy Masquespacio, Houtique designs glamorous pieces with an industrial spirit. Their emblematic creations are electric and eclectic, to say the least.
The Spanish brand Houtique, based in Valencia, and creative consultancy Masquespacio started their collaboration when both companies came together some time ago to create a new furniture collection. The result was a collection of sexy, luxurious furniture that can be recognised from afar by the explosion of colours and the frequent use of fringes. "Houtique stands for pleasure and we wanted to create open-minded design with a seductive character," said Andrés Gramage, founder of Houtique. In the meantime, the companies have already released two collections together and we hope that there will be a third one coming out in the very near future!
"Houtique's emblematic creations are at least electric and eclectic. "
Houtique playfully uses retro codes, bright colours, original shapes and sometimes kitschy patterns. That, combined with icons of Postmodern design, gives the craziest compositions. The materials often used are gauze, fringes, coloured steel and 24 carat gold. They transform spaces into a unique experience. This approach makes the collection a mixture of softness and femininity with sharp contrasts and refined contemporary accents.
The 'Déjà Vu' stool is a perfect example of this with its colourful and fringed concept. It was inspired by the overwhelming and mysterious sensation of a déjà vu. "I've never believed the stories of people who say they sometimes realize that they've already dreamed or experienced something. I've always thought they were poetic, but I never thought they were true. Yes, I was naive, but now look at me... I am the result of an overwhelming and delicious déjà vu, a kind of dream that came true," said Ana Milena Hernàndez Palacios, founder of Masquespacio, about the collections.
The furniture collections of Masquespacio x Houtique are real must-haves. The 'Wink' lamp with fringes, for example, is composed of various elements that seem to wink at the past and the future. The 'Chachacha' pouffe seems to be ready to dance with you from the moment you settle down on it.
The modern, captivating silhouettes of the collections are both innovative and blatantly honest and have a charming audacity.
