On the eighth floor of the Viking Park residential complex in Lviv, Yaro Bureau has designed an interior where light and tranquillity take centre stage. The flat was created for a couple who love to travel and wanted their home to feel like a place they would be happy to return to. Every design decision enhances the openness of the space and emphasises comfort.
Behind the design is Yaro Bureau. Their approach is rooted in a keen sensitivity to space and materials. With this project, they translated the residents’ wishes into a redesigned layout that completely reimagines the original plan and lays the foundation for a lighter and more coherent living experience. The original two-room layout with a dark hallway has been replaced by an open-plan design in which only the bedroom and bathrooms remain separate. The living area and kitchen flow seamlessly into one another and are characterised by a strong sense of visual calm. The kitchen, designed as an island, forms the heart of this area. The worktop in Breccia Pernice marble subtly draws the eye, whilst cupboards in a similar shade to the walls almost disappear into the background. 
The bathrooms also contribute to the experience, with an open shower inspired by travels in Asia and a travertine washbasin as a striking detail.
In the seating area, the space is defined by a transition from parquet to microcement. A generous sofa forms the focal point here. The graphite-tinted glass partition between the living area and the bedroom adds depth and allows filtered light to pass through. The dining area gains extra character from two pendant lights that create an intimate atmosphere in the evening. The bathrooms also contribute to the experience, with an open shower inspired by travels in Asia and a travertine washbasin as a striking detail. 
Materials play a major role in the overall design. Warm wood, microcement and natural stone are combined with soft textures and earthy tones. The bedroom is dominated by a subdued palette that brings a sense of calm, complemented by carefully chosen lighting and bespoke features. The result is a home in which every element contributes to a balanced and pleasant living environment.
