In the heart of Ibiza's Morna Valley, Ibiza Interiors transformed an old stable into a multifunctional and contemporary space: the Atelier. Located on the 20,000 m² grounds of the private finca that is part of Jurjen Van Hulzen's Ibiza Campo guesthouse, this place combines authenticity, tranquillity and functionality in a way that honours the island's tradition while adding a modern interpretation. The Atelier is surrounded by carob and orange trees and marks the end of a path, a hidden retreat that invites silence and reflection.
The building, originally a single-storey dry-stone stable over 200 years old, was renovated with respect for its historical structure. The old stone walls have been restored, the wooden beams emphasised by a white ceiling, and the materials used are traditional for the island. At the same time, the two large façade openings add a modern touch, integrating light, space and a contemporary look into the original charm. The result is a harmonious balance between old and new, elegant and rustic, where textures and styles come together freely without losing the authenticity of the building.
The Atelier is not only aesthetically appealing, but also fully functional. It can serve as a second home, workspace, gym or relaxation area. The interior design supports this versatility: a modern kitchen is the only fixed element, while a large wooden table can serve as a dining table, workspace or sports surface. On rainy afternoons, the space can be darkened with linen curtains and transformed into a home theatre with comfortable pouffes, armchairs and a projector. The bathroom receives sunlight through a skylight, and a spacious built-in wardrobe in the bedroom emphasises that the Atelier is suitable for longer stays.
The outdoor space enhances the feeling of freedom and connection with nature
Outside, too, the Atelier exudes a sense of freedom. The garden design, realised by Ibiza Exteriors, blends seamlessly with the “campo ibizenco”. Stipas, aloe, rosemary and mastic trees emphasise the wild essence of the landscape, while requiring little maintenance and water. The whole forms a natural continuation of the surrounding nature and reinforces the feeling of tranquillity and connection with the island.
The Ibiza Interiors Atelier is thus a raw gem: a place where freedom, authenticity and serenity come together. It is a space that invites reflection, creativity and relaxation, while honouring the rich traditions of Ibiza in a contemporary context.
