Cold temperatures are already starting to make their way back to our shores; while we love a delicious autumn of pumpkins, chestnuts and coloured leaves, we also secretly dream of the warm rays of the sun again. Luckily, Greek design studio Stones and Walls has a solution for that: they created Mykonos Rocks, a haven where you can spend a lovely winter.
From the idea that design influences culture and has a positive impact on people's lives, Stones and Walls was born in 2009. The Athens-based agency designs cosy environments of high quality with beautiful aesthetics. In doing so, the studio really goes to extremes because the experts regard each project as a challenge and seek initiatory design solutions from that mindset. In the end, they always succeed in creating modern concepts inspired by global trends. With a deep passion for their own culture and a belief that everyone should be able to enjoy it, S&W created Mykonos Rocks. The complex comprises five villas offering breathtaking direct sea views. These fantastic surroundings served as the main inspiration for the design. The dialogue between the cycladic landscape, the sea and Greek art had to be fully incorporated. This ultimately gave the design a serene look that still includes the necessary luxury.

The restraint of the residence is due to the clean, modern spaces. In other words, the villas enjoy contemporary minimalism, with a nod to wabi sabi. Naturally, this leads to the use of natural materials such as marble, handmade terrazzo bricks, and oak. What does set the design apart again are the artisanal touches such as bespoke textile art, ceramics, and organically shaped lamps. The latter encapsulate the beauty and charm of the imperfect.
In short, this exclusive concept is an excellent environment to fully recharge your batteries during the winter months. The understated luxury, pleasant comfort and delightful peace you find there will undoubtedly make for a memorable time.
