Danny Kaplan, founder of the renowned Danny Kaplan Studio, proudly announces the opening of his new flagship showroom in the historic Cast Iron District of NoHo, Manhattan. After years of being based in Brooklyn, this showroom offers a new platform for his ceramic collections and introduces new product categories and materials that Kaplan has been developing in recent years.
The new space, located at 417 Lafayette Street, spans an impressive 4,000 square feet and provides an immersive experience for visitors. Housed in an iconic 1910 warehouse, the showroom combines the raw industrial charm of the historic building with the refined, sculptural aesthetic of Kaplan's work. The interior reflects a harmonious balance between art, design, and craftsmanship, with custom displays and atmospheric elements that highlight the versatility of his creations.
While production remains in Brooklyn, the new showroom offers the designer the opportunity to further expand his creative horizon. In addition to his well-known ceramic furniture and lighting, he is now introducing new collections, including brass sconces, metal furniture, and handmade rugs. Furthermore, exclusive furniture pieces, designed specifically for the showroom, will be on display for the first time. The designer's ceramic creations are internationally acclaimed for their unique glazes and organic forms, blurring the lines between design and art. Inspired by influences such as German Modernist ceramicist Hans Coper and the primitive forms of ancient Greek, Mayan, and Chinese potters, Kaplan has developed a style that uniquely combines minimalism and craftsmanship.
Award-winning ceramicist expands his creative vision with a custom-designed space in Manhattan
‘Relocating to NoHo marks an exciting new chapter for Danny Kaplan Studio,’ said Kaplan. The rich history and artistic energy of this neighbourhood fit perfectly with their vision. This showroom gives them the opportunity to explore and present new materials and designs.
The showroom is divided into three distinct zones. Visitors are welcomed into a rotating exhibition space where the Delf collection—a collaboration between Kaplan and Lesser Miracle—will be showcased at the opening. Additionally, the space features a dining room, open kitchen, lounge, and a discreetly positioned private area where the designer resides. The interior has been brought to life in collaboration with leading design brands such as Clé (tiles), Reform (kitchen cabinets), and Farrow & Ball (paint). The showroom soft opened for a select audience in November 2024 and is now officially open to the public in Spring 2025. Visits are by appointment only.
