Those who browse through Tribù’s range often do not know where to look first. By now, this Belgian specialist in outdoor furniture sells in over eighty countries discrete luxury designs that elevate leisure to its own level. With a broad assortment of collections they embellish gardens, terraces, and pools beyond geographical borders. Today, we are highlighting two specific lines: Mai and Suro.
Family business Tribù does not merely strive for high-end design; their ambition extends a lot further than that. The hours that we spend at home in open air should not be inferior to the hours during which we find ourselves inside. You want to spend your free hours in comfort, so they design furniture that allows you to bring the luxury from indoor outside. Seeing that already the third generation is leading the ship, it has by now become common knowledge that they can count on a rich experience as a specialist. Their broad offer in terms of construction, fabrics and accessories introduces a rare variety that yet does contain an undeniable common thread. You can best coin this a modest timelessness that never loses its charm and is a shared achievement of all related craftspeople, designers, and producers. Without exception, the assortment preserves a subtility, as well as a simplicity and a palette with calm colours. Since they want to transform the private outdoor area into a place of relaxation, they consistently aim at an all-encompassing serenity. A good life should be filled with things that contribute to it, and they understand this completely.
The outdoor area developes a full-fledged concept that transcends the mere functional
Even though the entire range of Tribù rests on an immovable foundation, in their collections they collaborate with different designers. They created Suro with Christophe Delcourt, for example, which consists of characterising and braiding techniques. It is no coincidence that you may see a resemblance with the idea of flower pedals. While the braid work is meant to stimulate comfort, the frame – made from wood or aluminium – is responsible for the solidity. Form and function meet each other with a stretched-out hand. The result is a successful selection of designs in which you find an inviting comfort from the first moment on. Thanks to the absence of sharp edges, the pieces look even more approachable. As a second collection we introduce you to Mai, conceptualised by Ilia Eckhardt. Here, the distance between people and nature is bridged by the centimetre. Namely, pay attention to the knitted look of the furniture. By approaching traditional knitting techniques through a contemporary lens, the designer took a rather experimental route that bared rich fruits. Yet the pieces look equally sophisticated and luxurious. More than seating furniture pieces only, the brand also offers tables and accessories, meaning that the outdoor area developed a full-fledged concept that transcends the mere functional. These two names are only a sample of the entire range of Tribù. Throughout the total assortment, every design bears their unadulterated quality and creative force that lie at the basis of their success. Leisure deserves to be a priority, an idea that is perfectly reflected in their outdoor furniture, without the smallest ambiguity.
