Hegi Design House believes furniture is more than utilitarian objects; it is works of art that tell stories and fill spaces with meaning. Based in Sydney, Hegi has become a leading brand in collectible furniture design, exploring the boundaries of luxury and minimalism with a commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship.
Hegi's ethos revolves around co-creation, sustainability, honesty and exceptional craftsmanship. They see furniture as both works of art and investments. Every piece they make is made to order, which allows them to minimise their carbon footprint and build a personal connection with their customers. At Hegi Design House, the client is involved in every step of the design process, creating a deeper connection with the piece of furniture they help create. From the initial sketch to the final finish, the client's input is essential.
Their designs are a mix of creative, timeless and playful elements. They transform high-quality materials into unforgettable collectibles that leave a lasting impression in any environment. Using durable materials and a unique sculptural aesthetic, they aim to create furniture that is not only noticed, but also remembered. They aim to ignite a love for consciously designed spaces - spaces that tell the customer's story through striking and compelling furniture. Hegi is all about experience and connection. They offer a relaxed, holistic approach to furniture design, focusing on feeling, connection and belonging. Together with the customer, they create something unique and sentimental that becomes part of the customer's life journey. Their furniture is meant to last a lifetime, to preserve memories and create new ones.

Hegi Design House is the life's work of Nelli and Juri, a couple born in Kazakhstan and raised in Germany. Nelli studied international business with a focus on art and marketing, while Juri specialised in furniture art. Their journey took them to Australia, where they decided to stay in 2013 after an inspiring internship. Almost a decade later, they have built a thriving business, along with two beautiful daughters and a dedicated team supporting them in the workshop. Their designs are inspired by the art, architecture, landscapes and fashion of both Europe and Australia. They hope to return to Almaty one day to find even more inspiration and incorporate it into their creations. At Hegi, making furniture is a symbolic and important undertaking. Their handmade, customer-centric approach ensures that each piece of furniture is not only seen, but also felt and experienced. The Hegi experience is an invitation to think, sketch and create with them. They involve the customer in every step of the process so that they not only get a piece of furniture, but also put a piece of themselves into the design. At the end of this journey, when the client meets the team that has brought their vision to life, they feel the connection and pride that characterise their craftsmanship. This is the essence of Hegi Design House. They cannot wait to co-create with the client and create something unique and meaningful together.
