Mata Estudio's philosophy revolves around simplicity, harmony and a strong connection to the environment. Each design emerges from a careful examination of the context and needs of the occupants. The agency's signature is recognisable: natural materials, pure lines, understated details. Less really is more here, every shape, every texture contributes to a sense of tranquillity, balance and timeless beauty.
Mata Estudio is an interdisciplinary architecture and interior design studio founded in 2023 in Valencia by Águeda Mata. From her deep belief in the power of beauty and poetry, she creates a space for people who are not just looking for a home, but a place to really live, breathe and unwind in. In doing so, Mata Estudio offers not only technical advice, but above all creative solutions that interweave art and architecture.
A special example is Atrio House, the integral renovation of a 1980 corner house in Burjassot, near Valencia. The house, with a protected modernist façade in soft green tones, breathes history. The construction with exposed wooden beams and Arabic roof tiles is enriched by a spacious 73 m² courtyard, bringing light and life deep into the house.

The floor plan follows the property's original structure, with angled corners giving character to the rooms. The living kitchen with dining room is the beating heart of the house: an open space of 63 m² bathed in daylight from the patio. A sculptural spiral staircase leads to the mezzanine, which houses a master suite with walk-in closet and bathroom. The balustrade along the mezzanine acts simultaneously as bookcase and gallery, a subtle play of function and form. 
Inside and outside flow seamlessly together: the patio, kitchen and barbecue area share the same materials, as if the patio were an extension of the living space. Earthy tones, lime paint in ecru and warm wood accents create a serene, almost meditative atmosphere. As a nod to the façade, green accents subtly return in the interior. With this project, Mata Estudio proves how architecture can be more than space: it can be an experience - a home for soul and senses.
