The brand DEDON aims to inspire people to enjoy the time they spend outdoors as much as possible. Their outdoor furniture transforms garden and terrace, with handmade pieces that are the result of a sincere and responsible manufacturing process. The connection with nature is logically essential to their ethos.
For 30 years, since 1990, the experts have been dedicated to treading the most sustainable path possible. Among other things, they do this with EcoCycle Fiber, an eco-friendly alternative that, as a material, delivers the same quality as less sustainable alternatives. At the Milan fair, they are highlighting, among other things, their PAPYON collection, designed by Arnd Küchel. As the name suggests, the design is inspired by the figure of a butterfly. This is why you can clearly see an elegance in the lines and why they decided to incorporate some contrasts in the colour palette, as is done in nature. The butterfly reference is not only visually important, but also substantive. For instance, the collection symbolises the metamorphoses the brand is going through in their constant pursuit of better materials and craftsmanship. It is also an incentive to enjoy the present moment, as we do when a butterfly lands briefly near us.
The brand's story began with a vision to create outdoor furniture that is more than just functional. It had to be an extension of indoor living, bridging the gap between comfort and nature, between domesticity and the outdoors. This led to the creation of unique pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also embody durability and craftsmanship. Every piece of furniture DEDON produces tells a story of meticulous attention to detail and a deep respect for the environment.
A bridge between comfort and nature, between domesticity and the outdoors
EcoCycle Fiber, an innovative material used by DEDON, is a perfect example of their commitment to sustainability. This eco-friendly fibre offers the same robustness and aesthetics as traditional materials, but with a much smaller ecological footprint. Its use is a testament to their ongoing search for sustainable solutions without compromising on quality or design.
The PAPYON collection, with its elegant and flowing lines inspired by the butterfly, embodies its philosophy perfectly.Arnd Küchel's design captures the essence of nature in its purest form, while offering a sense of refined luxury and comfort. The butterfly, with its symbolic meaning of transformation and beauty, is a fitting metaphor for DEDON's evolution as a brand. It reflects their constant pursuit of innovation and commitment to always improve. It invites us to experience the outdoors in a new way. They encourage us to enjoy the simple pleasures of being outdoors, to find moments of peace and beauty in our own gardens and terraces. DEDON's outdoor furniture is more than just a functional addition to our outdoor spaces; it is a celebration of life, an invitation to relax and embrace nature.
