For exactly fifty years, Dauby has managed to nestle as a silent force at the heart of sophisticated interiors through their deep-rooted love of form, material and finish. Here, door, window and furniture fittings are regarded as ambience carriers in their own right. From handmade doorknobs to bronze tile accents, every element that leaves their workshops bears the marks of a conscious choice and considered process. The rich texture of natural materials, the precise imperfection of artisanal casting... it is these nuances that give a room character and make it timeless.
Entrepreneur Annie Van Ingelgem started her career selling glass doors and bought door handles from Paul Dauby's company, which was already known for its door hardware at the time. In 1994, Annie and her husband Holger took over the company, and Dauby was born. Meanwhile, the brand is internationally recognised. The decision to stand out from cheaper mass production through authentic castings proved fundamental to this. Choosing quality metal and a traditional sand casting process was a strategic gesture towards sustainability and uniqueness. Each resulting piece carries a unique form of sophistication.
Over the years, the range has evolved without losing its core. New collections for bathrooms and kitchens, for curtains or wall coverings, are each an extension of a philosophy that revolves around detail and a sense of material. The Retro collection, for example, is entirely handmade and embraces imperfection as an aesthetic value. It is precisely those small deviations that humanise the objects and align them with the interior they are intended for.

From rural farmhouses to urban lofts, Dauby does not allow itself to be defined by style or trends. Their strength lies in the way their pieces blend into the space, as a natural part of the whole. The finish is tactile, the colours develop a unique patina over the years, and the weight of each object betrays the seriousness with which it was made. Everything changes as it is used.
What Dauby is celebrating this year is more than an anniversary. It is the affirmation of a vision that endures in a world of rapid change. Their team of designers, craftsmen and specialists remains true to the craft while looking ahead: with an eye for new applications, collaborations with top international designers and a continued focus on sustainable production. In this practice, every detail counts, and the smallest object makes the difference between a space that is seen and a space that is felt.
