We are proud to welcome a new project by our partner Michiel Van Raemdonck. A talented architect whose work exudes a unique harmony between architecture and interiors. In his design process, he includes the interior as an inseparable part, resulting in a balanced aesthetic that is both authentic and refined.
What really characterises Michiel Van Raemdonck's work goes beyond architecture; it exudes authenticity and vibrancy. His personal and meticulous approach has a story of shared vision and precision, resulting in works that resonate not only physically but also emotionally. We would like to take you through his most recent design, a stunning single-family home located in a rural setting surrounded by lush meadows. The architecture is steeped in simplicity and austerity, a subtle reference to typical Flemish farm houses. The façade, baled in the tradition of 'whitening' old farm houses, and the old blue braised roof tiles attest to a deep connection to local architectural history. 
What really characterises this project is the search for essence. Van Raemdonck strives for perfect proportions, where dimensional relationships are essential. This search for essence leads to an interplay of elements - the meadows with grazing horses, the swimming pool that invites reflection, and an underground basement with wellness, all with an eye for the essence of space and form.

A crucial aspect of his philosophy is the careful selection of materials. He embraces both new and reclaimed materials and understands that the right choice of material palette can take a project to the next level. Combining these materials with fine, pared-down details creates an understated elegance that embraces timelessness and durability. ‘We pay very close attention to making the right choices in the right place and for the right people: there are an extraordinary number of beautiful projects, styles and materials, everything is also very accessible through social media, everyone can find and apply beautiful things, but it's just the art of combining the right things, just by doing this you achieve another dimension, an experience and feeling and beauty,’ we hear. Something we can only agree with. 
The challenge in this project lay not only in harmoniously integrating the clients' programme within the permitted building volume, but also in seamlessly weaving contemporary requirements and regulations into a clean, understated design.A challenge he overcame with his craftsmanship.
