Do you need an excuse to visit Paris? Here’s the perfect one: an avant-garde project introducing a new way to connect with spaces and interact with the objects and furniture that shape our interiors. This unique experience, set in a stunning Haussmann apartment in the heart of the French capital, combines sustainable design principles, aesthetics, and wellness.
From November 7, 2024, to February 16, 2025, the iconic Haussmann apartment – complete with elegant moldings and classic parquet floors – will be transformed into an inspiring space where sustainable design philosophies come to life. The project Cosmos and Matter, founded by the Sustainable Design Association, focuses on promoting responsible practices in the design world. According to co-founder Marie-Cassandre Bultheel, inhabiting a space goes beyond material aspects. It is about fostering a sensitive, intimate connection with the earth and the universe. The 250-square-meter apartment offers a journey through 10 unique scenes, each exploring a different facet of eco-friendly living. Picture a Botanic Bar, a Table of Life, a Moon Lounge, and even a ‘cosmic soundscape’. Visitors are encouraged to experience these spaces barefoot, enhancing their connection with the elements. The carefully curated pieces reflect a harmony between tradition and modernity, inviting visitors to rethink how we design and live in our interiors.
The co-founder emphasizes that the selection of designers, artisans, and artists is entirely focused on respecting natural cycles and universal laws. The pieces on display are made from materials like reclaimed wood, natural pigments, and plant-based leather, all chosen for their low environmental impact. Names such as Atelier Musset, Elisa Uberti, and Padmakshi grace the exhibition, each offering a unique perspective on sustainable design. Marie-Cassandre Bultheel and Hélène Aguilar, both experts in sustainable design, bring their combined knowledge and passion to this project. With their extensive experience as curators and visionaries, they aim to set a new standard for luxury that aligns with nature.
Cosmos and Matter is more than an exhibition – it is a call to action. It inspires us to rethink our daily choices and embrace a new, more sustainable way of living. Paris is the perfect place to embark on this journey, and this project offers a unique opportunity to redefine not only design but also our lives. Project: Cosmos and Matter
