Imagine spending a few days in complete tranquility, surrounded by understated luxury and natural beauty. This coastal retreat in Cadzand, designed by interior architect Jonathan Beekmans, is a masterpiece of harmony and peace. The interior of this vacation home has been meticulously crafted, paying attention to details that evoke not just visual appeal but also a profound sense of calm and relaxation. Beekmans’ interiors focus on creating a warm and serene atmosphere, achieved through a minimalist approach deeply rooted in the context of each project. For this artistic retreat, he collaborated with Texture Painting, a Belgian company renowned for its high-quality decorative techniques. Together, they have created a villa where space and proportion merge seamlessly into a peaceful environment.
Texture Painting can be described in three defining words: sustainability, craftsmanship, and sophistication. With an impressive expertise in decorative painting techniques and innovative finishes, they bring texture and elegance to every project. Offering a wide range of techniques, from minimalist to complex applications, their work perfectly complements both modern and classic interiors. Texture Painting also operates on an international scale, having completed projects in locations such as Marbella, Saint-Tropez, Zurich, Paris, Ghana, London, and Los Angeles. This global presence has solidified their reputation as a reliable partner for refined, bespoke work.
For the coastal retreat in Cadzand, Texture Painting played a pivotal role. Their work is not just functional but also crucial to the serene ambiance of the home. Their unique techniques transform surfaces into works of art. For instance, the entire floor of the home was finished using their signature 50/50 technique. This method embodies a perfect balance between structure and subtlety, creating a seamless flow between different spaces while enhancing the sense of unity. The result is a calm and harmonious foundation that aligns perfectly with Beekmans’ vision of minimalism and functionality.

For the walls, ceilings, and doors, the Soho finish was chosen, known for its understated elegance and natural aesthetic. This finish blends effortlessly with the soft tones of the interior, contributing to the serene atmosphere that defines the design. Another highlight of this project is the use of microtopping in both the kitchen and bathrooms. This durable, waterproof finish provides a modern and refined look. The kitchen backsplash, bathroom vanity, and even the custom-designed fireplace have been treated with this technique, reinforcing the sense of cohesion and luxury throughout the home while maintaining the natural textures that enhance comfort.
With his serene and contextual approach, Jonathan Beekmans has created an interior where every space evokes a feeling of homecoming. His respect for materials and proportions elevates the design to a higher level. Subtly integrating old elements with modern finishes, he has crafted a residence that feels both timeless and inviting. Thanks to the masterful collaboration between Jonathan Beekmans and Texture Painting, this project offers a refined balance between functionality and design. Here, you can experience tranquility, craftsmanship, and luxury in a way that lingers—an oasis where serenity and beauty converge.
