- Interior
In the serene town of Wassenaar, a 1930s residence has been beautifully reawakened. Transformed by Studio &Space, this heritage home now speaks a refined and modern language—where timeless architecture meets contemporary elegance. The renovation embraces openness, light, and sophistication.
Original elements—terrazzo flooring, steel-framed windows, and geometric detailing—have been lovingly restored and reimagined with a fresh perspective. The result is a seamless blend of past and present, honoring history while making space for modern living. The restructured layout invites flow and connectivity. At its heart lies a kitchen crafted from rich walnut and natural stone, radiating warmth and understated luxury. Materials like brass, wood, and stone add texture and depth, while a grounded color palette cream, ochre, brown, and deep burgundy—offers comfort and timeless appeal. Thoughtfully curated furniture and lighting enrich the interior story. Bespoke pieces and mid-century modern vintage, mainly from the 1970s, bring character and charm, allowing history and modernity to coexist in harmony.
Each design is thoughtful, durable and made to live in, not just to look at.
Studio &Space, founded in 2020 by interior designer Maike Borst, specializes in bespoke interiors that combine warmth, elegance, and personality. Every space is built to last—crafted to be lived in, not just admired.
What makes this project truly remarkable is that it’s not just a renovation—it’s a story. A story of reverence for heritage, a love of craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for timeless beauty. Studio &Space proves that a home can be more than four walls—it becomes a living environment where past and future meet in warmth, harmony, and character.
